At the heart of Voice Box Studios is Grammy Award-winning engineer and producer Mark Blackwood, whose career in the music industry has taken him from some of the most celebrated stages in America to the recording studio, where his experience, musical ear, and attention to detail have helped create award-winning music.

Mark has engineered and worked with major recording artists, including legendary country music icon Willie Nelson, as well as numerous artists throughout the Country, Gospel, and Christian music industries. His studio work has earned Grammy recognition, giving artists who record at Voice Box Studios the opportunity to work with an engineer who understands professional recording at the highest level.

Highly proficient in Pro Tools, Mark brings extensive experience in recording, engineering, editing, mixing, vocal production, and music production to every session. His years as both a professional recording artist and studio engineer give him a unique advantage—he understands exactly what happens on both sides of the microphone.

Mark is also affiliated with BMI, bringing additional knowledge of the professional songwriting, publishing, and music industry world into the studio environment.

Whether working with an established recording artist, an up-and-coming singer, a Gospel quartet, a Country artist, a songwriter creating a professional demo, or someone recording their very first project, Mark approaches every session with the same goal: capture the artist’s sound and make the finished recording the very best it can be.
